Sport Bath Covid 19 Health & Safety Procedures

With Covid 19 concerns still very much a part of our communities we would like to reassure parents/guardians and players that Sport Bath is actively following the latest Government guidelines at all of our coaching settings. Key to our Covid 19 Health & Safety strategy has been the creation of a comprehensive Risk Assessment and associated Covid 19 Guidance/Procedures that parents/guardians/players and coaches must follow when participating in any of our activities.

Sport Bath Risk Assessment can be viewed at: www.SportBath.com

Compulsory Sign Up for Sport Bath Sessions (Track & Trace)

This season all players will need to sign up to attend our coaching sessions, this is to ensure that we are able to comply with the NHS Track & Trace initiative. Any child attending a session who has not signed up and received a confirmation email that they have a place will not be permitted to join a session.

We ask that Parents/Guardians and players familiarise themselves with this guidance & procedures and follow it as closely as possible in order to help protect the health and safety of all concerned.

COACHING DAY - Key Guidance/Procedures for Parents/Guardians/Players

Before departing from home

  1. Parents & Players must do a self assessment to be sure that they are not presenting any Covid 19 symptoms, in particular
  2. High Temperature
  3. Persistent Cough
  4. Change of Taste/Smell
  5. Please comply with the latest Government Guidelines regarding  lift sharing
  6. Players should try to wear a football shirt in the colour requested by their coach (to be confirmed at your first session) as we wish to minimise the use of bibs
  7. Ensure that you bring a water bottle clearly marked with your name

Arrival at your coaching venue

  1. Please avoid arriving at the venue more than 5 minutes prior to your start time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes early please wait in our car or socially distanced well away from the coaching area
  2. Follow any 1-Way System in place when arriving and leaving the venue
  3. Players should queue up in the designated area outside the pitch/court and socially distance
  4. Players will be invited onto the pitch/court by a coach/assistant once all players from the previous session have left. Nobody should enter the pitch without being invited by a coach/assistant
  5. At the start and end of the session a coach/assistant will dispense hand sanitiser for each player as they enter/leave the pitch/court.
  6. Players should place their water bottles in the designated area.
  7. Please do not touch any coaching equipment prior to your session starting.
  8. We will aim to put players into coaching bubbles and ask players to stay in those bubble for the duration of the coaching term.
  9. We will aim, as far as practicable, to put SFC footballers in the same coaching bubble as their FC Bath team mates. Players who do not play for FC Bath will be mixed across the coaching bubbles. Where we have a large number of players from an FC Bath team they might need to be split into two coaching bubbles.
  10. In order to reduce the level of close contact between our coaches/assistants and players we require a parent/guardian to be in attendance/contactable to deal with their child’s needs (shoes laces, toilet, mild injury etc)
  11. Children in PreSchool, Yr1,  Yr 2 - must have a Parent/Guardian present in the Spectator Area throughout their child's session
  12. Children Yr3, Yr4, Yr5, Yr6 - We encourage a parent/guardian to be present in Spectator Area throughout the session. If you prefer to wait in your car then please ensure that you have your mobile phone switched on at all times (this must be the mobile number that you provided when you signed up on our website).
  13. Children Yr7 and above - do not need a parent/guardian on site during a session but must be contactable by mobile phone at all times during a session (this must be the mobile number that you provided when you signed up on our website)
  14. Note that we are currently unable to invite parents to spectate at our indoor venues, instead we ask parents of younger children (a & b above) to stay on site in their cars

During the Coaching Session

  1. For the foreseeable future coaches will design sessions around small sided games and match play in order to reduce the time that players are standing around in groups
  2. Players should aim to socially distance at all times during a session. Celebrations involving other players should not take place
  3. Do not share any personal items with other players, e.g. Water Bottle, Gloves etc
  4. If a player is injured or requires basic attention the coach/assistant will ask the parent/guardian to enter the pitch/court and take their child to the side line to deal with their needs.
  5. No certificates will be handed out this term.
  6. We have designated Spectator Areas for parents/guardians at all venues, please socially distance in order to respect other people.
  7. If any player were to present with Covid 19 symptoms a parent/guardian will be called onto the pitch and be asked to take their child home and report their symptoms to the NHS.

End of a Coaching Session

  1. Players must take all of their equipment (water bottles, gloves etc) at the end of a session. We will not be able to keep lost property for parents/guardians to rummage through each week.
  2. Coaches/assistants will lead players, one group at a time to the exit where they will be asked to hand sanitise before being handed over to a parent/guardian. Parents should follow any one-way system when making their way to the exit. Please ensure that you are at the exit to receive your child. Please socially distance and do not crowd around the exit when children are leaving the pitch/court.
  3. We ask that parents/guardians to leave the coaching venue promptly after their child’s session has finished

We recognise that these new Covid 19 Health & Safety procedures will take time for both our coaches/assistants, parents/guardians and players to get into the habit of following. If we all make our best effort to follow sensible procedures, we can continue to enjoy playing and learning in a safe, fun and nurturing environment.

At Sport Bath our goal is to create BRIGHT FUTURES for our players
